When there is a channel with more than one segment in Ad Manager Connect a master playlist needs to be created in Scala Content Manager to reflect this configuration.
Create a playlist in Scala Content Manager and on the Items page add a sub-playlist for each of the segments for the channel in Ad Manager Connect.
Open the sub-playlist by clicking on the checkbox and choosing Properties.
On the Scheduling page change the Items to play change it to “Play this many items each time” and enter the number of items for the segment.
Click OK.
Repeat this for each of the segment sub-playlists.
Save & Close the master playlist.
Setting up the Filler Playlists
For each segment in Ad Manager Connect a Filler playlist is automatically created in Scala Content Manager.
Each of these filler playlists needs to have at least one item in it. Please note that if you have a scenario where you do not want the filler playing if there are no items in the corresponding segment, you need to create an empty playlist (a playlist with no media items), and assign that to the segment's filler playlist.
Setting up the Channel to use the Master Playlist
Go the Players page and click on the channel of the player that this playlist is to play.
Click on View Schedule
Double click on the calendar grid and change the playlist to the master playlist then click Update.
The player will start updating the content and playlist shortly.
