Sub-groups allow you to be able to create subsections of your data for convenient (expedient, practical) administration of your organization. This provides you with the ability to control which people have access to different parts of your data. For example, if you have multiple offices, you can create "Sub-groups" for each office so they can only see their information, while top level "Group" members have access to all information, regardless of office.
When a Sub-Group is created, it becomes its own Organization. Any data entered while in that Organization is only visible to members of that Sub-Group and the top level Organization. If data is entered in the top level Organization, it is not visible to the Sub Groups.
Create a Sub-group
Go to the Sub-Groups page and click the Add icon. You will be prompted to create a Sub-group; enter the desired name and click "Create".
Deleting a Sub-group
Deleting a Sub-group that is currently in use will revoke any pending invitations to the group and it's sub-group. Any members of the group and its sub-groups will lose access to the organization unless they belong to other groups and any assets owned by the group and its sub-groups will be transferred to the parent group.
Add Users to a Sub-group
Go to the Groups page and continue on to the Sub-groups tab. From here, double click on the sub-group you wish to work with. When you do this, you will now see the sub-group listed next to the main group name.
Click on Members, then click the Add icon in the lower right hand corner . From here you can enter the email address for the person whom you are inviting, and you can select the desired roles for this person. Click the Done icon in the lower right hand corner
to send the invitation.
After the user accepts the invitation, they will be able to log in and work within the subgroup. Any information entered will be assigned to that sub-group.
Until the user accepts the invitation it is possible to revoke it. Click on the pending user and click on the Revoke icon in the top right corner then click on Revoke to cancel the invite.
