Below are the steps to use when needing to change the number of spots or the segments in an existing Ad Manager install.
- Create the new segment(s), including type, capacity and padding
- Create the new loop(s)
- Assign the new segment(s) to the new loop(s), in accordance with their new loop sales policy (order of segments, number of items from each segment)
- Create any new layouts, if necessary (shouldn't be unless there is a new feature)
- Finalize Layout
- Create new Channel(s)
- Assign the appropriate layout to each channel
- Assign the new segment(s) to the appropriate frame(s)
- Update Player Output(s) to point to new channel(s) with the date the new channel goes live.
- Go to Player list and republish
- Create new subcontracts for all affected subcontracts, using the new segment(s), starting the date of the channel change
- Schedule the reservation(s) for all affected subcontracts
- After the channel has gone live and no playback issues reported, find all reservations using the previous segment definitions after the channel change date and remove them.
